Welcome!
In PC225, and (possibly) PC226, PC325 you
learned science with a limited set of mathematical tools. In this course I aim
to show you how `simple’ mechanics is really done. Turning you into professional
scientists and engineers is no easy task, but it is necessary. In two years you
may be writing control software as a mechanical engineer for NASA Moon 2024 mission, or build an artificial limb that can withstand vibrations, design autonomous cars, or inspecting the strength of a structure.
The book we are using is the most common book used by engineering students. I also require programming. The first worksheet preparing you for using Vpython is already available (1/20/2021). You may choose to start working on it at any time.
