The essence of Sociology is about understanding the dynamic relationship between social structures, individuals, and social action.  This course introduces students to the ways Sociology understands the relationship between the individual and the social context.  Specifically, the course studies the “three faces” of Sociological social psychology; symbolic interaction, social structural influences on personality, and group processes.  The course is organized around problem-solving, using questions, case studies, and applications of what we know from the “three faces” of Sociological social psychology to dig deeper into real social dynamics.
