Course Description:
This course focuses on the development of leadership potential to meet the challenges and opportunities of today’s dynamic global business environment. Throughout this course, students will learn about values alignment, knowledge, and skills which foster positive relationships and promote organizational progress.
Course Learning Objectives (CLO):
- After completing Executive Leadership, you should be able to
- Demonstrate a broad understanding of theory and research on leadership in formal organizations (e.g., business, government, academia, etc.)
- Identify managerial roles, decision making approaches, and effective time management strategies
- Differentiate various effective leadership behaviors and approaches
- Understand approaches to leading change and innovation
- Understand the skills and tactics involved in influencing others and organizations
- Understand the dyadic relationships between leaders and followers
- Identify the elements related to effective leadership in groups and teams
- Interpret strategic leadership approaches within the context of formal organizations
- Understand different conceptions of ethical leadership, ethical dilemmas, and individual code of ethics
- Identify the determinants of leadership effectiveness and developing leadership skills
- Design an individual leadership development plan based on your self-assessment and concepts learned in this course
